Solar Integrated Technologies Brings Sun Power To Coca-Cola Bottling Company of Southern California

Coca-Cola Bottling Company of Southern California to Save Millions of Dollars with New Photovoltaic Solar Roofing System

Los Angeles, CA, January 13, 2004 - Solar Integrated Technologies (SIT), providers of proprietary photovoltaic (PV) solar roofing systems, today announced the success of their first project with The Coca-Cola Bottling Company of Southern California and four new projects throughout their California locations.

At the end of 2003, Coca-Cola Bottling Company of Southern California management faced a decision to either replace their existing metal roof or opt for a more environmentally and economically sound solution--they chose the latter.   By embracing the concept of adopting green energy and implementing a solar roofing system powered by SIT's SR2001 photovoltaic solar membranes, Coca-Cola stands to save millions in energy costs while significantly decreasing its CO2 emissions over the next few years.

"Coca-Cola's use of solar energy will help save them millions of dollars in utility fees," said Ed Stevenson, CEO of SIT.   "Coca-Cola now has a 329 KW solar electric system that will help decrease their peak rate expenditure while producing clean energy to offset conventional fossil fuel burning utilities.   Implementing solar roofing systems like SIT's SR2001 is not only a financially sound business decision, but also a decision that will influence all lives in the very near future."

The SR2001 is a fully integrated roofing system that combines twelve flexible 128-watt photovoltaic panels capable of producing 100 kilowatts of clean power from the sun for 5 to 6 hours daily for every 28,000 square feet of roofing material installed.   This capacity is critically important during peak times of the day when energy from public utility sources has become prohibitively expensive.
