Solar Integrated Expands Presence In Connecticut With Los Angeles, California, and London, UK, June 12, 2008 – Solar Integrated Technologies, Inc. (AIM: SIT.LN), a leading provider of building integrated photovoltaic (BIPV) roofing systems, announced today that it has won two new contracts from Silktown Roofing, Inc., a general roofing contractor based in Manchester, Connecticut, to supply and install a 385kW BIPV roofing system at Naugatuck High School, Connecticut and a 147kW BIPV roofing system at Glenville School in Greenwich, Connecticut. “Our strategic focus on the educational sector in Connecticut continues to be rewarded with contracts such as these and requests for proposals from school districts throughout the state,” stated John R. Snelling, Vice President, Sales and Marketing of Solar Integrated. “For both the state and the schools, our proprietary solar roofing system is a ‘win-win’ solution with a Class A fire safety rating, maximum energy output even under cloudy or overcast weather conditions, and our patented ‘no compromise’ installation process.” “From the start, we have been impressed with the quality of Solar Integrated’s BIPV solar roofing system and the professionalism of their engineering and support staff,” commented John C. McConville, President of Silktown. “We look forward to continued growth with Solar Integrated.” (For more information about Silktown Roofing, Inc., please visit www.silktownroofing.com.) “The system will serve to not only defray our ever-increasing utility costs at a time of tightening budgets but also serve to teach our students, their parents and the community the value of sustainable renewable energy in terms of viable energy production and environmental benefits,” stated John Tindall-Gibson, Superintendent of Naugatuck High School. Combined the Naugatuck High School and Glenville School BIPV solar roofing systems will produce more than 625,000 kWh annually, enough energy to power approximately 100 homes and eliminate the production of over 600 metric tons of carbon emissions equivalent to removing more than 50 cars annually. About Solar Integrated Our proprietary “no compromise” approach for solar roofing is fundamental to our vision of BIPV solutions. Unlike typical after-market solar panel providers, we provide an integrated BIPV roofing system that meets the customer’s energy, environmental and roofing requirements. Our lightweight, flexible and durable product typically forms the top layer of the customer’s roof with no additional roofing penetrations, thereby preserving the roof’s structural integrity and aesthetics, while delivering the full benefits from electricity generation through clean, secure natural sunlight. Our customers include Audi, Carrefour, Coca-Cola Enterprises, Frito-Lay, Honeywell, IKEA, Metro, ProLogis, San Diego Unified School District, Tesco, Toyota, Unibail-Rodamco, UPC Solar, U.S. Air Force, U.S. GSA, U.S. Navy, Wal-Mart and Westfield.
