Solar Integrated Technologies Begins Installation of 200kW Integrated Photovoltaic System at Hawthorne Machinery

Rancho Bernardo CA, March 13, 2004- Solar Integrated Technologies commenced today the installation of an integrated 200kW photovoltaic system for Hawthorne Machinery Company.

Hawthorne Machinery was in need of a re-roof at their 100,000 square foot facility. Through this installation, Hawthorne Machinery has taken a roofing liability and turned it into an energy producing asset that will produce over 400,000 kW hours annually. 

Through the use of solar energy Hawthorne Machinery Co. will decrease their peak rate expenditure while producing clean energy to offset conventional fossil fuel burning utilities.   Implementing solar roofing systems like Solar Integrated Technologies’ (SIT) SR2001 is not only a financially sound business decision, but also a decision that will influence all lives in the very near future.

The SIT SR2001 is a fully integrated roofing system that combines twelve flexible 128-watt photovoltaic panels capable of producing 100 kilowatts of clean power from the sun for 5 to 6 hours daily for every 100,000 square feet of roofing material installed.   This capacity is critically important during peak times of the day when energy from public utility sources has become prohibitively expensive.
