Solar Integrated Benefits From New French Feed-In Tariff

London, UK, and Los Angeles, California, June 1, 2007 – Solar Integrated Technologies, Inc. (AIM:SIT.LN), a leading provider of building integrated photovoltaic (BIPV) roofing systems, announced today the completion of its first BIPV project under France’s new feed-in tariff program.  The 76 kW BIPV system was sold by Solar Integrated and installed at the 4,000 m2 logistics facility of Alter Ego S.A. in Montpellier.  The project was managed by Urbasolar, a turn-key PV engineering company based in Montpellier, which is an authorised distributor of Solar Integrated in France.

“We are seeing certain European jurisdictions provide premium feed-in tariffs for BIPV systems which Solar Integrated is ideally positioned to take advantage of,” stated R. Randall MacEwen, President & CEO of Solar Integrated.  “In France, for example, the feed-in tariff for ground mount solar systems is €0.30 per kWh, but a premium feed-in tariff of €0.55 per kWh for single layer BIPV systems also exists.  With our BIPV product approach and a strong local partner in Urbasolar, we view France as a very attractive market.”

Stephanie Giraud, CEO of Urbasolar stated, “At this time, other than Solar Integrated’s BIPV product, we are not aware of any other competitive product that qualifies for the premium French feed-in tariff.  We are working closely with Solar Integrated to rapidly sell and deploy BIPV projects across France.”

Bart Van Ouytsel, Vice President, European Sales and Marketing, who joined Solar Integrated in February 2007, stated:  “The Alter Ego project in Montpellier is an excellent example of satisfying the customer’s energy and environmental objectives under a financially attractive model.  Our BIPV system is expected to exceed Alter Ego’s current power consumption by 50%, making this a truly green-powered facility.”
