Austin Energy - Solar Rebate Program

Austin Energy's Solar Rebate Program offers a $4.00 per watt incentive to eligible residential and commercial customers ($4.50/W for nonprofit organizations) who install photovoltaics on their homes or facilities. For commercial customers, the rebate program will pay 80% of customer invoiced cost or $100,000, whichever is less. 

Texas Net Metering

The Public Utility Commission of Texas (PUCT) requires certain utilities to offer net metering to qualified facilities 50 kW or less that use renewable resources. For customers of qualifying utilities, the utility must install a single meter that can read electric flow in both directions. Net consumption is billed at the applicable tariff. Net excess generation by the customers during a billing cycle is purchased by utilities at rates not to exceed the avoided cost (fuel cost only, no capacity component).
